ePatch

The ePatch Project initiated in 2009 as a development project between OUH Odense University Hospital and Svendborg Hospital and DELTA Microelectronic with the Welfare Technology Foundation as the financing party. The aim was to develop an electronic patch (ePatch) for recording of heart rate in patients with atrial fibrillation for monitoring in their own home, as a substitute for the present solution:  Telemetry during hospitalization. The project aimed at a labour-saving potential with a combination of new work procedure and patient pathways in combination with the use of innovative sensor technology based on a vision that the use of ePatch can reduce the number of bed days and optimize the quality of monitoring and treatment of patients with atrial fibrillation.

The project was finished in 2012. The project was evaluated in HTA perspective, included a literature review of non-invasive devices for cardiac monitoring of patients with atrial fibrillation: HTA of non-invasive devices for cardiac monitoring of patients with atrial fibrillation.
